Teagan Kavan was untouchable — a four-hit complete game with no walks, the fourth WCWS shutout of her career — and the Longhorn power did the rest. Kaiah Altmeyer launched a two-run homer in the second and Kayden Henry tacked on a solo shot in the fifth. Mississippi State, making its first-ever WCWS appearance, managed four hits — three of them off the bat of X. Romero — but never solved Kavan and was shut out for the first time in the postseason.
