Chalk in Norman. Oklahoma swept 3-0 with three blowouts: 11-0 over Binghamton, 9-0 over Kansas, 8-1 over Michigan in the title. 28 runs scored, 1 allowed. Berzon got the championship win. The Kansas-Michigan power threat never materialized — Boyer was held to two singles, Putz went homerless.

X-Factor

Berzon dispatched Kansas 9-0 in Game 4. From there it was over — OU never trailed all weekend.

The Norman Regional winner advances to face the winner of the Eugene Regional (#3 vs #14) in the Super Regional round May 21-24, hosted at the higher national seed (Oklahoma). Super Regionals are best-of-three; the winner advances to the Women’s College World Series at Devon Park in Oklahoma City, May 28 - June 5.

All games at this regional are played at the Oklahoma home softball venue, with first pitch on Friday, May 15 and the championship round on Sunday, May 17.
